Car is ready part 2

Car is back in the garage and looks good as new. Biggie ups to Bob's Bodycraft.

Car is ready

Yeah, the smashlab car is ready to be picked up. I can visit Sams Club once again to fill 'er up... Oh, and it's 2 degrees again.

Rise my sun

The sun rose on my commute today; spring is near. Unfortunately, the air temperature was two degrees below zero.

A husband's guilt

My daughter is just over 6 weeks old and she's becoming a real pistol. She won't sleep in her crib, only in your arms or very near you. She might have separation anxiety. Is that possible? I don't know. What I do know is that it's been very difficult on Katie to do anything other than be a baby transport all day long. She can't even shower without some sort of wailing and gnashing of teeth. I really feel bad that she has to put up with that day in and day out at home. After about 90 minutes of it, I start losing my mind. I don't know how she copes.
It's not that I am free of wailing and gnashing of teeth while at work, oh no. However, there is some sort of a two-way conversation and reason involved with adults. You at least know you're being heard.
There is a light at the end of this week's tunnel. Her mother will spend two days with us to, and I quote, "hold the baby". Her mom loves to hold babies. Guess what? We have a baby that loves to be held. Sounds like a perfect match to me.

Shift change, no sun

My coworkers and I rotate three shifts. This week, I start at 7:00am. That means I'm on the 6:00 train. It's dark, cold and lonely. However, the train is sparce and you rarely ever hear some jackass yelling into their cell phone; I suppose that's a perk. Who doesn't know that action is second only to fingernails on a chalkboard on the agony meter?!

The lottery's followers

I hate waiting in line for someone to blurt out all their random numbers (3-7-4, 5-7-4) in a vain attempt to advance their personal wealth while I wait in line to buy a Pepsi. Next to my office building is a quickie mart run by Habib who has great Pepsi syrup - thicker than 7-11. It's close and quick, but ever so overpriced comared to 7-11.

Thank you, Eddie and JoBo

The drunk has United Auto Insurance. They've got us covered...

Heroes

So we've gotten into Heroes all of a sudden. Why? We have Netflix and need to use up the crazy amount of hours of "Watch Now" downloads that I've been missing out on. Right now, we're up to episode 13 of season one where Peter thinks he's gonna go nuclear and blow up Manhattan. It's fun to get caught up in it all and I love the immediate satisfaction of 1)no commercials and 2)no cliff-hangers and 3)no writers strike.

You drink, you drive, I lose?

That's not how its supposed to work. Well, that's the reality. I know the slogon on America's highways is:

You drink
You drive
You lose

But I'm the big loser in the casino tonight. Me. My wife was hit by a drunk driver at 7:15pm last night on a local road. Thankfully our newborn was at home with me and no one was hurt. What a crazy world we live in.

Pink!

Two months ago, pink and I got along nicely. Pink stayed in its space, I stayed in mine. Now that I have a daughter, pink has moved in and is cramping my style. Why can't someone buy us something purple or red or, heaven-forbid, black?

It's been a while

Has this blogging thing worn off? Maybe I have more distractions at home than usual ever since I went back to work full time. I don't know just yet. I am beginning to see a pattern... If I think of my blog as an old friend, it all becomes clear - I am terrible at keeping in touch.
I get so entrenched in the here and now that I fail to remember all those that aren't right here, right now. For example, I still need to return calls to family and friends from weeks back. What excuse do I have? None, I'm just bad at it. I have two cell phones (on one of them I write this post), a desk phone and a home phone. I have eight email addresses... I could go on and on.

Overwhelming support

We have received many gifts and well-wishes that I have started to lose track. From Christmas Tree ornaments to clothing to toys. Our friends and family have really come together to support the bith of our first child. We really appreciate it.

Knocked up

Saw knocked up the other night. Great stuff. We were warned not to see it before having our own child. We aren't quite sure that advice is valid, but I believe it was more appreciated as a parent.

Happy New Year

It's been a great year so far.
